Coaching Program
The National Coaching Certification (NCCP) program is a coaching program that is offered to certify coaches across Canada in order to provide athletes with the best possible skills and knowledge of the game. Every athlete deserves a coach that will provide the best possible leadership, knowledge and skill development they have to offer. Softball Newfoundland and Labrador, in conjunction with Softball Canada and The Coaching Association of Canada, provide the opportunity for coaches to become certified at each level. Softball Newfoundland and Labrador offers the Technical aspect of the certification process. We can also provide information on where and when you can complete the Theory component.
Currently the following levels must be attained to coach in the following events:
- Canada Games - Fully Certified Level III
- Canadian Fast Pitch Championships - Fully Certified Level II
- Canadian Slow Pitch Championships - Fully Certified Level I
- Softball Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Championships - At least Technical I

Diamond Drills
The Diamond Drills Program was developed and designed as a resource for coaches, who are in need of new and adaptable drill for practice. The manual is divided into sections, each depicting drills for a particular skill which progress from basic exercises to more complex drills. It is hopes that this manual will provide interesting and useful drills for skill acquisition and player motivation so that practice remains and area for improvement.
The manual is divided into the following 11 sections:
- Pitching (FP)
- Pitching (SP)
- Hitting
- Throwing
- Fielding
- Base Running
- Defensive
- Back Catching
- Offensive
- Sliding
- Bunting

Umpires Program
The National Softball Officials Certification Program was developed to educate and certify umpires across Canada. The program teaches umpires rules and definitions of softball, the proper dress and equipment, the use of the official Softball Canada Rule Book, home plate and base umpire mechanics and to ultimately improve the skills of umpires across Canada.
The following levels must be attained in order to umpire in the following events:
